My name is Seymour Council III. I am a devout follower of Christ, and I am passionate about helping others discover how invaluable they are to God and to the world. Having struggled with depression, self-esteem issues, and suicidal ideations in the past, it has always been my purpose to invest and help others realize their inherent value. I have served as a law enforcement officer for twenty-six years, as an adjunct professor in the field of criminal justice, and I am also a self-published author of the book “I’m a W.I.N.N.E.R.” (2016). I achieved my master’s degree in criminal justice from Liberty University, and I am presently working on achieving my doctorates at the same institution.
About the Book
In the book, In That Moment..., I recount a true incident from my time as a police officer. While depressed and experiencing personal thoughts of suicide, I was assigned to respond to a suicide-related call. Despite my own struggles at that time, I provided professional assistance to the individual in need. Although I did not receive specialized support at that moment, I experienced what I interpreted as a message from God affirming my value and worth. In the book, I describe this pivotal event, my decision to embrace Christianity, and my subsequent faith journey. I highlight scriptural passages that have encouraged me during that phase of my life and the subsequent challenges I have encountered. I believe this book will offer support to others facing difficulties of their own.
